Cyber security check: Is that on-screen tax deduction advice taking more than it’s giving?

In searching the internet on tax related matters while closing out your current financial year, you may find advertisements offering advice on deductions to reduce your tax position.

If it sounds like it is baiting you, consider the potential risk before you click.

At first these “clickbait” advertisements seem promising but be aware that not all advertisements seek to provide you with valuable and correct advice.  Some may be seeking the opportunity to deposit malware onto your electronic device and take more personal information from you than you thought possible.

Cyber security is important: this is a reminder that there are times when what is offered might be taking more than is being giving.
